Baskets and Stripes in Austin
For the Contemporary Austin House, we worked with a new-build construction, to infuse a contemporary take on Southwestern style. Woven basket details and stripes are a reoccurring theme across the project.
For this bedroom, we dressed up the wall behind the head of the bed with a grouping of collected baskets. Not only do they bring in a softer natural element to the room, they also add interest and depth to the wall. Here, we also introduced basket detailing in the bedside lamps. I love basket lampshades, because I find that they often give off a very warm glow (with the right bulb, of course!). It’s a great way to make your bedroom even cosier!
Then, we mixed thick-striped pillows with a custom lumbar cushion. A lumbar cushion is an easy way to dress your bed, with just one item.
