Sweet Countryside Lighting

A thorough lighting plan is a sure way to create atmosphere in a functioning home. As with any project, there are task, general, and ambient (decorative) lights planned.
For the Sweet Countryside project, I considered not only essential lighting for completing day-to-day tasks, but also where and what to highlight or cosify with decorative lighting. Dimmers on all lights are an absolute ideal, so you can create the right mood for the time of day (think breakfast lighting vs evening drinks lighting!).
I also selected lamps with the materials and forms that fit with the project’s key themes and materials: light woods, natural weaves, fresh linens, warm brass metal; geometric, ridged and airy. Lampshades can direct or diffuse light, so different lamp shapes best suit different functions.
