Scandi Forest Home: Materials Selection

Developing on my Scandi Forest Home project key ideas (cosy, natural, atmosphere, welcoming, warm, with earthy colours), I created this physical mood board to show the different selected materials, and how they work together. The way we understand textures is actually in context and by contrast, so by arranging samples of the materials together, we can get a good idea for how it will feel.

I selected bright natural light woods, long-wearing textured leather in warm tones, fresh linens for airy spaces and large windows, warm brass metal finishings that get better with age, and super cosy sheepskin and velvet.
