Painting Garden Furniture

It’s been hot and sunny in the UK recently, and I’ve been painting! With a small pot of paint, I transformed a dodgy wooden side table into my current favourite piece of outdoor furniture! I love having fika outdoors (Swedish coffee + sweet treat tradition), so having a cute table upon which to rest my cup is ideal. I chose a periwinkle colour, which complements the garden greens beautifully, without taking centre stage.

Here below is said “dodgy table” - the table itself functions and is a good size, but that original orange stain was just not for me! I picked up a small pot of outdoor furniture paint at Homebase: Ronseal Garden Paint in the colour Cornflower. All you have to do is sand the wood (no prime paint coat!), paint 3 layers, and you’re done! No need for a finishing coat either. Quick and easy! I’m really happy with how the table came out. It’s amazing how a small pot of paint and a few hours can bring new life to a piece of furniture.
