Outdoor Cushions

Spring is finally here and, in London, so far, it’s been fabulously warm! So of course, it’s time to start thinking about how we can optimise our outdoors spaces, if we are so lucky to have any. I love to bring the outdoors in; I also love to bring the indoors out! A couple of cute cushions and candle holders can cosify your space, and encourage you to spend a few more hours outdoors.

I’ve gotten back to the sewing machine, and made a couple of these cushions with cord edging, in a lovely Gustavian-blue (light grey blue) and white floral pattern.

Since my garden is open (not covered by any building or awning), I’m going to bring the cushions outside in the morning, and take them in at the end of the day. If it was a covered space, or I used waterproof fabric, they could stay outdoors, though I don’t mind moving a few bits in and out.

A good tip would be to store all of your outdoor things in one basket by the door, so it’s easy to just grab everything in one go, and so they have a designated place to live.
