Highgate London Office Transformation
I’m so excited to finally share this Highgate London office transformation with you! We’ve injected warmth and atmosphere to this small, professional space with a view.
Firstly, the floor plan made a huge difference, so now when seated, you can see easily both the door and out the window. This is the “power position” in feng shui, with a solid structure behind, and a clear view to all entrances and exits.
The biggest impact on the feel of the room was definitely refinishing and painting the back wall. By painting approximately one third of the wall, we were able to create atmosphere and character. Painting a clean line where one might put a dado rail, keeps the room rooted in tradition, with a fresh contemporary interpretation. We chose Dulux paint in Overtly Olive, a warm grey-green, to create a calm space. Tearing up old carpet and staining the exposed wooden floor boards, certainly made the room feel more elegant. See the process here.
We kept the same furniture, and made it feel more sophisticated and cosy through decoration. A large painting on the wall was an opportunity for more personality and colour. Trays keep decor contained and tidy. Plants always soften a room, especially a space with such angular furniture. To create a more soothing atmosphere, we added a contrast table lamp, and new adjustable ceiling spots, for warmer lighting.
