Current Picks: Christmas Stars

As December approaches, special Christmas lights are beginning to appear in Stockholm windows. One type to know and definitely to embrace abroad is the Star Light! Seeing this traditional Swedish light is super cozy when you’re out walking in the dark of night (read soon as 2:30pm), as well as when you’re inside under a warm blanket with a cup of coffee or cocoa.

These are my Star Light picks from this season. Which is your favourite? (left to right from top)

  1. Dark Glitter Star - This Watt & Veke star has some serious personality! Would be great for layering too.

  2. Snowflake Star - This snowy star from Markslöjd is definitely appropriate for the whole winter season.

  3. Traditional White Star - Beginning your collection? This one from Star Trading is a classic.

  4. Rattan Star - Want something with structure? Go for this PR Home one.

  5. White Glitter Star - A touch of extra sparkle from Åhléns.

  6. Earthy Star - This Granit one is great for neutral palettes.

It’s usually just a paper lampshade, so you can either hang it from a ceiling light near the window, or replace your regular one on the windowsill.

One Star Light does wonders. A group of them is a thing of magic! I currently have just one, though I am seriously considering starting a collection and hanging them like in the Poppy Love You photo below. As you see, you can even hang some paper stars alongside your light - they don’t all need to be electrical.

Who else is ready to start a collection?
