Modern Summer Mountain Kitchen

Finally we come to the kitchen of the Modern Summer Mountain House project! I kept this space super fresh and airy, suiting the rest of the home. This meant having most of the kitchen storage below, which open shelves above more more decorative items. As this is a second home, there isn’t as much need for cabinets, so just having them on the lower level will be enough.

The cabinets are in a bright white shade, paired with brass hardware which has more and more patina and charm over time. I selected a dark countertop for functionality as well as contrast.

Since the clients hope to entertain in this space too, I put a second smaller sink at the edge of the kitchen space, for quick cocktails and such.

In terms of furnishings, I stuck with the light woods and natural weaves. I brought in the fresh green tones through the rugs.

Under-shelving lighting and pendant lamps give off functional light, while wall sconces offer extra lighting as well as atmosphere.
