HOSTE Gingham Table Setting
Since I rediscovered Laura Jackson, I’ve been keeping and eye on her exciting projects, including HOSTE London . In general, her taste is playful in a very British way, daring with fresh and bright colours, while also incorporating personality-packed antique gems. YES!
This gingham table setting from HOSTE’s most recent event is another one for the books (or for the blog!). I love gingham in general - probably thanks to the 1960’s French fashion icons such as La Birkin (see below). And the use of this classic pattern as both the runner and serviettes is so summery, reminding me of picnics and the south of France.
Note the fantastic use of cabbage, elongated church candles, and Icelandic poppies! How much fun is this? Incorporating the ingredients in the table setting just reminds you how fresh the food is.
And this antique Dutch tulip vase is just so special and architectural. (side note - did anyone see the Alicia Vikander movie Tulip Fever?) What a talking piece!
