4 Design Details from Formex Stockholm

Twice a year, Scandi brands gather at the Formex design fair in Stockholm, to showcase their upcoming designs. I was lucky enough to stop by - and as usual, there was just an overwhelming display of taste and talent! Here are a few of my favourite details from the January 2019 show, as captured on my Instastories:

1. Rippled Glass at Broste Copenhagen

There is so much variety amongst glassware, presenting so many opportunities of infusing character into your table setting. These rippled drinking glasses by Broste Copenhagen are just so beautiful! And what’s nice about colourless glass, is that it doesn’t mar the colour of your special wine or champagne.

2. Nature-inspired shaped lighting at Globen Lighting

Interesting lighting is always appreciated, so why not be playful with it? At the Globen Lighting stand, I spotted these charming lamps in the shape of a cocoon, and mushrooms. That’s another way to bring the outdoors in!

3. Warm-toned Candleholders at ByOn

Being Swedish, one very much encourages a plethora of candles at home. The more candles the better! So why not take the next step toward cosiness, by using warm-toned candleholders, like these from ByOn, to enhance the warm glow?

4. Timeless touches from Strömshaga

Terracotta + plant is inarguably a classic combination. And oil lamps are old-school Swedish. So, if you’re looking to bring timelessness into your home (and why wouldn’t you be, as of course we hope for our interiors to age with grace), these details from Strömshaga are a great way to go.

NB - While these are Scandi brands, most of them will be available in the UK and across Europe too. Try online shops like Nordic Nest, and Royal Design, for example.
